GED 2023: Birthing the Encryption Advocates Council.

In the year 2023, the world is facing a number of unprecedented challenges. One of the most pressing is the threat to our privacy and security posed by mass surveillance and government overreach. Encryption is one of the most important tools we have to protect ourselves from these threats, but it is under attack from governments around the world.

That is why we are birthing the Encryption Advocates Council. The EAC is a new organization dedicated to advocating for the widespread use of encryption and fighting for our digital rights. We are a coalition of technologists, activists, and policymakers who are committed to protecting our privacy and security in the digital age.

The EAC will work to educate the public about the importance of encryption and the dangers of government overreach. We will also lobby governments to adopt policies that support encryption and protect our digital rights.

We believe that encryption is essential for a free and open society. It allows us to communicate with each other privately and securely, and it protects our data from unauthorized access. Encryption is also essential for economic growth and innovation. It allows businesses to operate securely and protects sensitive data from theft.

The EAC will work to advocate for encryption:

• Educate the public about the importance of encryption and the dangers of government overreach.
• Lobby governments to adopt policies that support encryption and protect our digital rights.
• Provide support to organizations and individuals who are working to protect encryption and digital rights.
• Conduct research and analysis on the impact of encryption policies and practices.
• Build a coalition of supporters for encryption and digital rights, and work with Global Encryption Coalition to achieve its objective in Africa.
• The EAC is a new organization, but we have a team of experienced and dedicated individuals who are committed to our mission. We are confident that we can make a real difference in the fight for a more secure and private future.
